The win over Meadville set up a showdown with Oil City for a District 10 Class AAA playoff berth...Bundy Fulmer's kick for the extra point was the difference against Meadville. Both teams scored in the third quarter, but Adam Hurban's kick was wide right after the Bulldogs' TD...The Knights answered with their touchdown, a 9-yard run by Clinton Washington, who broke three tackles for the score...Freddie Stevens' 40-yard pass to Andy Chalot was the big play on the drive...
The only score in the Hickory came came on Stevens' 1-yard run with 5:27 to play...Stevens had a 14-yard run and threw a 26-yard pass to Fulmer during the march...
Stevens completed 43 of 82 passes for 665 yards and four TDs...He also rushed for 298 yards on 115 attempts...Brad "Scooter" Bacher was the top rusher with 366 yards on 57 carries and added 169 yards receiving on 12 catches. Fred Blackhurst was named conference Coach of the Year after the Knights rebounded from an 0-10 season to finish 7-2...Oddly, the Knights didn't have any player make first team all-conference despite that record...
