Knights Notes

The Knights won their fourth straight Section 2 title with a 3-0-1 record...The Knights knocked off highly-touted Warren in their league opener with Ferdinand "The Bull" Libardoni scoring two TDs...Eddie Valeski rushed for 123 yards in that game, and Libardoni added 99...

Libardoni took advantage of blocks from Walter Miller and Tom Maul to score on a 19-yard run against Meadville...Bill Beith tossed a 13-yard pass to Rick Ditzenberger for the other score...

The Knights salvaged a tie with Corry, scoring in the fourth quarter on a 12-yard run by Dan McCullough after Miller recovered a fumble...Libardoni scored two more TDs against Ford City. Earl Holland had a safety in that game...

Libardoni's best game came against Oil City, rushing for 181 yards on 32 carries...Libardoni benefitted from the up-front blocking of Miller, George Case, Terry Snyder, Tom Fultz and Tom Maul... Libardoni  also returned two kickoffs for 58 yards and made a 36-yard runback on a fumble recovery....

Beith scored a TD and passed 65 yards to Glen Marshall for another against Titusville...Marshall also had a 32-yard fumble return in the game...

Libardoni led the Knights with five TDs...Beith added four...
