Nursery Rhymes The Nursery made a 31-yard pass from John Harris to Jay Rhoades stand up against Hickory for its only victory of the season...It came on a fourth-and-five play in the second quarter...But the Nursery would then embark on a 25-game losing streak covering three seasons...Some of the games were winable, however... Ed Shanshala scored three TDs, one on a 52-yard run and another on a 53-yard pass for Warren...Harris scored the Nursery's only TD on a 1-yard sneak...Harris completed passes to Rhoades (16 yards), J.C. Ramsey (15) and Ted Fultz (26) during the march... Bob Hillier scored on an 80-yard run against Meadville...The second TD, a 2-yard run by Dick McDowell, included a 28-yard pass from Harris to Rhoades...Manson and Harris had interceptions against the Bulldogs...The game was played before 3,000 fans at North Street Stadium in Meadville... Tackle Don Lawson's fumble recovery set up the only TD against Corry, an 8-yard pass from Harris to Ramsey...The Nursery was on the Corry 14 for the last play of the game when Harris threw the ball into the end zone...After the ball was batted around by several players, Corry's Rex Spaulding made the interception...Rhoades caught a 41-yard pass in the fourth quarter... The Nursery drew first blood against Greenville, scoring on a 6-yard pass from Harris to Manson on a fourth down play in the second quarter...The big play of the 60-yard drive was a Harris pass to Fultz who lateraled to Manson for a 29-yard pickup...Rhoades also caught a 43-yard pass in that game, and Ace had an interception... The Nursery was inside the 15 twice in the second quarter against Grove City...The only TD in the Punxsutawney game came on a 34-yard pass from Harris to Manson... Center Ed Wible, who earlier recovered a fumble, blocked a punt and tackle Mike Mong recovered it in the end zone for a touchdown against Titusville...Rhoades caught a 78-yard pass from McDowell on the final play of the game and was run down at the Rockets  9... Harris scored on an 84-yard run just before the half ended against Bessemer (now Mohawk)...The Nursery was stopped on downs on the 1 and 2, fumbled on the 13 and 2 and threw an interception on the 14... Harris, Ramsey and Manson each scored two TDs for the Nursery...Harris also kicked five extra points...Rhoades made at least seven catches for 239 yards...
