Grove City intercepted five passes, including four in the fourth quarter, and then a flu-ridden Nursery was blown out by Meadville before a record 3,447 fans at Miller-Sibley...A number of regulars were unable to play for any length of time, and Harris and T Ed Bowen left the game with injuries...Several players were near collapse at the end of the game and one was hospitalized after he became unconscious...

Fumble recoveries by Roy Perry and Bowen and a blocked punt by Tom Beith that was recovered by Dom Pacilli set up the three TDs against Oil City...Marchibroda threw TD passes to Cardy (12 yards) and Coefield (18) and Coefield scored on a 3-yard run...Harris kicked all three extra points...Perry also had an interception against the Oilers...
